Three Canadian designers lit up the runway at the second annual Canadian Fashion Weekend in Ottawa-Gatineau. The event ran from November 4 – 5.
The first night of the two-day event featured designs by Ines Kljajic, of Emina Fae. Kljajic is a recent graduate of Ottawa’s Richard Robinson Academy of Fashion Design.
The second night put the spotlight on two designers at Ottawa’s historic Arts Court. Christo Bilukidi, of Idlewood Bespoke, led the presentation of custom menswear.
The final designer to exhibit their designs was Michèle Beaudoin, of Michèle Beaudoin Designs.
After the main runway event of each night, a panel of people invested in Canadian fashion was held to discuss the industry’s future. Representatives from multiple organizations, like designers from the show and Canadian PR firm The Exclusives, talked about revamping Canadian fashion, introducing a Canadian fashion council, and inspiring up-and-coming designers.
